What we believe
We believe healing happens when a person’s voice is honored, their choices are respected, and the harm they experienced is taken seriously—without turning their story into a case file.
Restorative practices respond to harm by bringing together the people who have been affected in a safe and supportive setting. They give everyone an opportunity to share their experiences, take responsibility where needed, and work together to repair the harm and move forward. Each process is shaped to fit the needs of those most affected, strengthen relationships, and address the underlying causes of the problem.
What we ask of you—and what we offer
We ask only that you participate willingly. You can meet with us once, share a little or a lot, step back, or return later. Nothing is required of you: not forgiveness, not reconciliation, not meeting anyone who harmed you, and not meeting any organization on their behalf.
What we offer is a steady, prepared space. At least two trained facilitators are present in every restorative meeting. They do not take sides. Their role is to make sure every voice is heard, especially yours, and to help the group move toward understanding and repair at a pace that feels safe.
How this differs from an HR investigation
Many survivors have been through processes that felt like audits of their credibility. A restorative response is different in shape and intention.
HR Investigation
Risk management and policy enforcement
- Adversarial, objective interviews
- Determines fault on “preponderance of evidence”
- Accuser and accused kept separate
- Confidential to limit organizational liability
Restorative Response
Healing and rebuilding
- Begins by believing that harm occurred
- Voluntary, inclusive, facilitated dialogue
- Centers actual impact on people and community
- Transparent, collaborative repair agreements
